The Vega PIR quad technique involves two independent dual detection elements arranged in an interlocking configuration. Conventional dual element passive infrared detectors are outperformed using this method as each dual element provides 2 separate signals for Vega's intelligent digital signal analysis for use to disregard false activations.

There are three coverage patterns in the Vega range which make it ideal for commercial and industrial applications. These are 18 metre volumetric, 50 metre long range and 40 metre curtain. In addition anti-mask volumetric can be supplied to provide an indication if a detector is deliberately or accidentally obscured.

Long term performance is maintained by the use of sealed optics to prevent dirt and insects from impairing the detector's view. Vega also constantly monitors the ambient temperature and automatically compensates to ensure optimum detection over a wide temperature range.

A walk test indicator with full remote control enables the detector operation to be checked regularly to ensure that the required coverage is maintained.
