The Halon Bank
MX 950 Microwave Movement Detector is designed to transmit microwave
energy in a broad pattern throughout the protected area. Some energy is
reflected back from every solid object. If an object moves, the frequency
of the signal reflected changes (Doppler effect). A receiver converts
these small changes into an electronic signal which is analysed to
determine the size of the object and the distance moved. An alarm output
is designed to occur when a large object, such as an intruder, has moved a
predetermined
distance.
It is fitted with
anti-tamper protection and a walk test indicator is provided to enable
regular checking of range and coverage.
Where multiple detectors are to be used in close proximity with each other
the MX series can make use of the Multiple Interference Rejection (MIR)
feature. This feature allows up to eight detectors to be connected
together and reduces the possibility of the microwave in each unit
interfering with its neighbouring detector. The MX also has excellent
rejection of interference from outside sources for example mobile radio
transmissions.
