compound, which is charged by natural or artificial white light. They
retain their luminous power for several hours to allow occupants to
evacuate buildings quickly and safely in the dark and can be recharged
any number of times.
Low location lighting uses a similar principle. Directional indicators
on floors and walls glow in the dark to point out a clear, unambiguous
and continuous escape route.
Having illuminated guidance low down - below the level where smoke would
